My First Glass of Syrian Arak
So, after 3 years of searching, I finally got my hands on a bottle of Syrian Arak.
I’ve had a lot of Jordanian, Lebanese and Palestinian Arak, but never have I had the chance to try Syrian Arak (or wine).
So, sounding like a fat kid at a candy shop, I forgot the bachelorette party I was at and hurried to pour myself a glass. And man was it good and smooth!
The Lebanese arak is still my favorite, followed by Jordanian arak (haddad) then arak Ramallah from Palestine and then Arak AlRayan. And it doesn’t mean that if it’s 4th that it’s bad. No, it’s a 8.5/10. Its taste was very well refined.
May we someday go back to importing Syrian arak and wine in Jordan and the Levant and hopefully we see more and more varieties of Syrian wine and arak around.
Cheers/bse7etkom,
Edmond
